Hello! I am Forkget. I'm an artist and gardening enthusaist located in the United States. I made this site to document my journey in botany with others, and to share my growing database of plants native to my area. I started gardening sometime about a decade ago, and have become an amateur botanist of sorts.

Clicking the "How-To" tab at the top of this page will take you to my tutorial page, where I upload everything I have learned throughout the years with hobbyists new and old. If you are just getting into the native plants world and don't know where to start, this page is a resource built spcifically for you. That doesn't mean there's nothing useful there for more experienced gardeners, as we can all learn something new. Half the fun of native plants is that there are always new things to learn that we haven't heard of before. Even the most experienced gardeners will attest to this, some even describing it as a sort of addiction.

The "Gallery" tab will send you to my page for sharing my iNaturalist finds, photos I've taken on the fly and uploaded to iNat. for identification. If you are a greenthumb specializing in native or endemic plants, please help contribute to iNat. All you have to do is download the app on your dumb phone, snap pics, and add them to their database. You don't need to create an account, you can even upload without adding any information such as the location you snapped the pics. Other users will add details about the plants based on their knowledge. It's an easy way to contribute to the native plant world, and who knows; you may discover a new species no one has ever seen before.
