Melancholy

This is Melancholy. Mel is a girl with no past and it seems, no future. She has no memory of her past and for some reason, isn't all that interested in finding anything out about it. She is the very definition of the word, introvert. She is extremely shy and soft spoken... so much so, that most people can barely hear her when she speaks. She walks everywhere she goes (unless she's with Meta4, but that's later). When she walks, she stares at her feet or the ground, rarely ever looking up to see what's ahead of her.
She is the perfect example of good girls loving bad boys. She falls in love with a powerful drug dealer and all around thug named, Met4. Though they are total opposites, they make the perfect couple.
Mel's provocative way of dress actually emphasizes her innocence. She makes all of her clothes herself. In her mind, her clothes are pretty, and nothing more.
Mel's innocence makes most people fall in love with her almost immediately. But she does manage to make some bitter enemies, one of whom is Shaira. The other is one possessed of unimaginably evil tendencies.
Mels seems almost perfectly sweet... but there is a catch to everything. Mel is always battling with insanity. There is a "something" always lurking right at the edge of her peripheral vision. That "something" makes her very dangerous, as Shaira finds out. When her madness is unleashed, there is no stopping her.
Mel represents the number 2, which means wisdom. She is anal about making the right choices, and will ponder over a decision for so long, that she often misses the opportunity and regrets it. She is a lesson in procrastination for everyone. Her real name is Layla Ariq, but she doesn't know.

Meta4

This is Met4. What can I say about Meta4, except that you are going to love this cat. He is that anti-hero of this story. You'll understand what I mean as you read the books. He is a drug dealer who specializes in three very exotic and powerful drugs: Truth, deception, and dream capsules. No one comes back from using these drugs as the same person. Meta4 is smart and ruthless, which is a deadly combination. He is only 5'3", and the only reoccuring character's who are shorter than him are Melancholy, Solace and Eve.
Eve is a creation of Meta4's. Our quantum drug dealer feared that he would lose all that was good in himself, so he created a doll that would house his higher self. So that is who Eve is. Can you guess what Meta4's real name is?
For all of Meta4's hardness, he actually became this way out of nessesity. He actually has a conscious in there... somewhere. His chance meeting with the strange and beautifully insane, Melancholy, is a pivotal point in his life. Before he knows it, he actually has a reason to live.
Meta4 has many enemies. It is very hard for anyone to survive being an enemy of this man, and you will love his inventive ways of dealing with those who cross him. It is rarely pretty though.His conversations with Eve are often hilarious.(Did I mention that no one can see Eve except Meta4?)
Anyway, Meta4 represents the number five, which means power. He has five scars over his left eye (which is blood red). You'll find out why in the book. You're gonna love him.
