Archives Definition of the Word "Fum"
|
The word fum had been a lovable member of everyone's vocabulary ever since it was introduced by Andrew Edelman in 1999. Sadly, it, and its companion words (crum, shum, dum, bum, asm, scrum, etc.) have been brutally not included in the so-called dictionaries. To rectify this fumming situation, the National Liar has published this unprecedentedly important word, and it related words. Fum, often used as an insult, can replace the other "f-word" in nearly all instances. Fum as a noun, is usually used to indicate a person who is not liked (e.g. "The foul fum entered without a search warrant."), and is often paired with the word "foul." It should be noted that fum, in its everlasting benevolence, can sometimes, by the untrained ear, be mistaken for a euphemism rather than the fully functional word that it is. If anyone should mistake fum for the other "f-word," enlighten him or her them with a baseball bat. |
