"Smuk som et stjerneskud" - Jørgen & Niels Olsen
"Beautiful like a shooting star as time passes, she looks more beautiful year after year"
The Danish Final was held on February 19th at the Cirkusbygningen in Copenhagen, hosted by Natasja Crone Back and Michael Carøe. There were two parts to the show - firstly, a televote to decide the top five songs, which were then performed again. Then these five songs were voted on by a combination of televoting and an "expert" jury which included Eurovision 1999 winner Charlotte Nilsson, Richard Herrey (Sweden 1984), Michael Teschl (Denmark 1999) and Lecia Jønsson who took part in several Danish finals.

Jørgen Olsen came 3rd in the 1989 and 1990 Danish Finals, and singing together with his brother Niels as Brødrene Olsen (Olsen Brothers) they participated in the 1978 (2nd), 1979 (8th), 1980 (5th equal) and 1986 (unplaced) Danish Finals. Fenders represented Denmark in the 1987 Eurovision along with Ann-Cathrine Herdorf (although they called themselves Bandjo then). Gry Johansen represented Denmark in 1983. Jørgen and Niels Olsen performed their song in English at the Eurovision as "Fly on the wings of love" and they won the contest.
