The German Final was held on February 18th at the Stadhalle in Bremen, hosted by Axel Bulthaupt.  The winning song was chosen by televoting, with over 1.5 million people voting. Only the top 3 placings were announced, but the following information is known:

Stefan Raab was the composer of the 1998 German entry "Guildo hat euch liebe".  At the Eurovision he came 5th. Corinna May was the original winner of the 1999 German Final, but was disqualified when it was discovered that her song was not original.
