The Yugoslav Final was held on February 28th-March 2nd at the Hotel Kvarner in Opatija, hosted by Oliver Mlakar, Ljiljana Trajkovska, Milanka Bavcon & Mica Orlovic. The 12 finalists where chosen through 2 semi-finals - click here for details: YUGOSLAV SEMI-FINALS 1974 The winning song was chosen by the votes of a jury of 24 people.

Korni Grupa changed the song title to "Generacija-42" for the Eurovision where it came 12th. They had previously taken part in the Yugoslav Finals of 1969 (3rd equal) and 1973 (3rd). Eva Srsen represented Yugoslavia in 1970, while Tereza Kesovija represented Monaco in 1966 and Yugoslavia in 1972.
