"Det skulle ha vaert sommer nå" - Ellen Nikolaysen
"It should have been summer now, and children singing with naked footsteps on a sandy beach"
The Norwegian Final was held on January 25th at the NRK TV Studios in Oslo, hosted by Bergljot Engeset. Each of the songs were performed twice (by different performers) - firstly with a small band, and secondly with an orchestra. The winner was chosen by the votes of 10 "experts".

Ellen Nikolaysen had already represented Norway in 1973 as one of the Bendik Singers. At the Eurovision the song was performed in English as "Touch my life (with summer)" and came 18th. Ellen had also taken part in the Norwegian Finals of 1972 (4th), 1973 (2nd=) and 1974 (3rd). Benny Borg represented Norway in 1972. Anne Karine Strøm was another member of the Bendik Singers in 1973 and also represented Norway in 1974.
