ChillOut REFERENDUM:

Hey guys.. u know how Montreal's holding a vote 4 wether or not we should have a de-merger? Well, we can do our OWN "referendum" right here on the site! Ok, so here's how it'll work.

Listen carfully. IF I CAN GET
30 MORE VOTES (instead of no) THAT

YES, U WANT TO C...
A)A picture of Cassandra and Marc eating out AND
B)A picture of Wathsala being "White in the Light"

Yes... I will do it! Remember tho, each of the 30 ppl who vote yes have 2 have their real first name on their "ballot" and each 1 has 2 b a different person... and let's say I get 8 "no" votes, then tha'll mean I have 2 get 28 "yes" votes! Got it!

You have until MAY 21 to vote!...
(And if this doesn't happen, I'll put some BEAUTIFUL pictures of our Quebec City trip instead!)
What r u waitin 4? VOTE NOW!

Yes, Karl, it is possible...
The Rubix Cube
Yes... what a perfect piece of wonder... (at only 15.99$+tax a piece!)
But seriously, Erno Rubik was a genius! There's no need explaining the history of the cube (the website has it all) but for all u ppl who are still stumped (and who probably don't understand their explanations... HERE'S HOW U DO IT!
First you have to remember that there are 6 center cubes (in diagram A, colored yellow), 12 side cubes (grey)and 8 corner cubes (brown, with 3 sticker sides). Side cubes can NEVER be moved to a corner position and vice versa. Also, the center cubes can NEVER be rotated among themselves (they can't switch positons) and solving the RUBIX CUBE is all about surrounding the corner and side cubes around the corresponding center cubes, by color.
Ok, but how?!?! Well, there are many ways, but this is the way they explain it in the manual you get (when you buy the cube).
You don't solve it by color, rather, by layer... ironically, the 1st and 3rd layers ARE colors, never mind that (Dia. B). Today, I will explain layer A, and you can practice it while each step is posted. Hopefully I will post the next step each month...
Look at diagram C. To get layer "A", you choose a center cube (I chose yellow) and your goal is to surround it by the 8 yellow cubes around it. Aslo, while you're doing so, MAKE SURE THE COLORS AROUND THE YELLOW ARE ALSO IN ORDER!!! (In other words, the 3 yellow/blue pieces should be on the same side, etc...)
The first few pieces should fit in easily, but what if you want to bring a piece in (2nd cube, diagram "C")
without moving the other 2 (in the same row)? See the purple arrows? That's where 80% of people get stuck (hey... I myself couldn't solve it for years!... until I got my own last September...)
1:you turn the
row the (lone) piece is on, to the left
2:move the
whole column (right side) down.
3:turn the center row back (
right), joining it with the other two (of the same color)
4:move the whole column back
up.
In short, it goes like this:
left, down, right, up. Simple as that!
Now look the second row of cubes. The same procedure (you just did) can be used for any of the corner cubes(green), the side cubes(orange), even the middle cube!... just repeat the process on the other side!
Think of it as a guy, trying to enter a building.
1.He walks away from the door(if he tries to walk in, the door will "move" away)
2:The trolley comes up to bring him.
3: He boards the trolley.
4: He enters the building, on the trolley.
Ok? Actually, I feel pretty stupid explaining this... it's the most basic of Rubix's moves, but is essential to all Rubix Cubing.. the concept of moving things away, doing ONE KEY MOVE, and reversing what you did.
Enjoy... remember to keep the outside colors aligned... next month we'll tackle the center layer (and
trust me, it get's harder...)

I thought 4 this month, we could take a break from the Cube, and move on 2 somethin else... what better than 2 talk 'bout commercials? Those ennoying, little, pesky ones that we all love 2 hate... u know, as I type this, my TV is showing a commercial.. they're everywhere!
