The goal if this webiste from the start was to help share our passion for Audi and Volkswagen with a larger audience. RR&R has existed in its previous capacity for 25 successful years, but if it hopes to continue that tradition for another 25 years it has to evolve. The construction of a modern website that is easy to navigate was crucial to us meeting our goals. Our target audience varies quite a bit, with many hardcore automotive enthusiasts being less comfortable with technology. The ability to construct an easy to navigate, hierarchical website, helped us put the best foot forward.
When constructing this website, clean and simple was the overall theme. By avoiding major deviation from our primary header, logo, and navigation menu, the site is constructed in a way that immediate inspires comfort when moving throughout. Appealing to a less technical demographic meant the use of neutral base colors. The selection of grey and red, also pays a subtle homage to the original colors of the Audi Sport racing division. Red and grey are signature colors of the brand, which they still use today. You'll notice that all sub-pages include an additional "Home" line in the navigation panel, to allow for an easy browsing experience. The service and performance pricing tables are organized and legible. The theme of the site is accessing information quickly and easily, I think it accomplishes that nicely.
Stylistically the website could be improved in a few areas. The modification of the navigation section to be a horizontal list would allow for a more streamlined look between the page titles and the subtext. I think that additional images could be leveraged on the site, though I would want to avoid the inclusion of too many "cluttering" add-ons. The ability to include drop down menus for the service and performance requests would also be a nice touch in the future.
