maputo, mozambique / 22.oct.1999

The Portuguese came up with the brilliant idea of making a building out of cast-iron and then shipping it to their colonial capital. Unfortunately, in Maputo's sweltering climate, the building was essentially an oven. This being a poor country, though, the building is still in use, housing the national museum offices.
