| On Piazza San Marco you can find orchestra cafes and many pigeons. It is forbidden to feed them after 1 p.m., the goverment set this law to prevent the buildings and generally the architecture from being damaged by the birds. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| On your right you can see Palazzo Ducale - the old Residence of the Dogos. It was rebuilt in the 14th century after a fire. This palace is a symbol of the Venetian Gothic with its wonderful arcades and light facade. We heard that it is very beautiful inside but we saw it only from outside. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| On your left you can see the lagoon where the gondolas "rest". In the background the Church of Saint George is seen (it is located on the island of the same name). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| On your right you can see Chiesa della Salute. The construction of this church began in 1631. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| There are so many canals and bridges in Venice that you'll never be able to count them or visit them all. They are a true beauty, relaxing spots and just imagine what these places have been witness to along the centuries. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
