- The Library began in the central laboratories of The Ministry of Health and Population (
MOHP.)
Then it was transferred to the center of Medical Education
Technology at Manyal El Roda in the middle of the eights.
- On the year 2001 it was
Transferred
to Nasser Institute for Research and Treatment which is located on
Kornish El Nil, Aghakan.
- The Library contains 73
medical periodi cals in different scientific specialties to be
increased according to the needs of the visiting doctors.
- The Library contains
around 1300 books and Medical text in different specialties .
- The Library is open from 9
a.m to 7 p.m , The whole week except on Fridays and national
holidays.
- There are 15 Computers sets
connected to the Internet for free for the doctors for the sake of
research and preparation of their scientific essays and thesis's..
- There's a Computer lab in
the library for training doctors and nurses to gain computer skills
and to know how to deal with the internet .
- There's a Conference hall in
the library supplied with all educational facilities for round table
discussion among doctors .
- There's also a video room
for visualizing scientific films and operations
- A library for scientific video
tabs and discs is under construction ( Multimedia room)
Library
Administration
The Library is being managed
through cooperative team consisting of :
- Medical librarian
team: responsible for cataloging and classification
of books and journals also following up the flow of the recent
periodicals to the library they also offer help to the visitors whoever
needed
- Technical support
team: responsible for the maintenance of
computer sets. scanners and photocopy machine ,also they are
responsible for designing and editing the Nasser Institute and
library website .
