COMPUTER EXPERIENCE
Have extensively used statistical packages such as IMSL routines. Have experience with state-of-the-art large computer codes on VAX and UNIX-System based machines. Experience include making operational large commercial engineering computer codes on UNIX based computer systems.

Proficient in FORTRAN-77 and C-Language, Mathematica.. Have utilized the UNIX/VAX,  Cybor-205 and IBM/360 mainframes and worked on graphic and text editors for UNIX/VAX systems. Have extensively  used IBM compatible PC software such as Matlab-SIMULINK, Word, Emtex for Windows, Word Perfect, MS-Chart, and Microsoft Windows applications.

Have utilized current Object Oriented programming tools to develop data simulation  programs: these include VISUAL-C, VISUAL-BASIC, and Graphic Editors for FORTRAN and MS-FORTRAN-90 .
ADMINSTRATIVE EXPERIENCE AT PIEAS
In-charge Reactor Physics Laboratory at PIEAS during 1990-1995

Worked as in-charge of Reactor Physics & Shielding Laboratory at PIEAS from 1990 till 1995. Work included arrangements for ten experiments for M. Sc. Nuclear Engineering & M.Sc. Nuclear Medicine courses. It also included conduction of laboratory experiments, supervision of lab-tests, viva-examinations and final examination. The supporting staff under supervision included a Senior Technician, a Junior Technician and a Laboratory Attendant. Their ACRs and  reports grading were also part of the annual work.
Development of a Radiation Transport Facility at PIEAS
Dr. Nasir M. Mirza Supervised the Radiation Transport Laboratory at PIEAS from 1983 until 2000 as in-charge. Work  included arrangements research based experiments for M. Sc. Nuclear Engineering thesis projects and Ph.D. thesis  projects. It included development of experiments to simulate voids in thermalizing regions to study neutron transmission.  A neutron transport facility using 10 Curie Am-Be neutron source a large water tank and neutron shield design was developed at PIEAS. Three papers were published in peer-reviewed international journals and part of Ph.D. research  work on effects of voids on reactor parameters was done in this laboratory. Two M.Phil student's research work  was done in this laboratory. The supervision included a Ph.D. student, two M.S. Thesis students and two students in  Master of Philosophy in Physics.
Co-ordination of Ph.D. Program at PIEAS
Dr. Nasir M. Mirza coordinated Ph.D. program at PIEAS since 1991. Work included arrangements for advertisements, student advisor selection, and thesis topic selection, conduction of Qualifier examinations and presentations, and development of rules and regulations after consultations with the Ph.D. Committee at PIEAS.
In-charge Admissions and Fellowships at PIEAS from 1995 to 1999
From 1995 till December 1999, Dr. Nasir M. Mirza supervised the Admissions and award of Fellowships to Nuclear & Systems Engineering programs at PIEAS. Work included preparation of advertisement, preparation and conduction of written test, Interviews of top students on countrywide basis, merit list preparations, organization of orientation week and zero semester scheduling. The supporting staff in this program included a Superintendent, a Clark, a data entry PC-operator and a Laboratory Attendant.
Co-ordination of PIEAS Colloquia & PIEAS Forum
He co-ordinated PIEAS Colloquia and PIEAS Forum from 1994 till 1998 with Dr. Abdullah Sadiq. These weekly seminars were arranged during each regular semester at PIEAS, where distinguished speakers were invited from country and abroad. Arrangements for the seminar, audience participation and distribution of written material were done every week.
