Wishing for a Will of Iron
Misery loves company
Agony has rent me
A hole in my soul
From which it stole my highest goal
My purity clothed in obscurity
There's assurity that it's dead to me
I can't find it anywhere
Wherever I look it's just not there
I try to fight but lose my edge
As I tumble off the breaking ledge
Wait! Hold on! I've been here before
Why oh why come back for more
You just don't get it, you just won't learn
That fire is hot! It always burns!
Put it down and step away
Only to return another day
It doesn't have to be this way
So I jump back in the fray
I know in my heart this has to end
Before I break I always bend
Am I not made of better metal?
That instead of winning I always settle?
Fold me over and pound it in
I guess even iron can come from tin.
