Gridding the Dog - To make guidelines for the grid on the dog, I used blue painter's tape.  It actually took me much longer to tape the grid than to paint it!  I used Golden Fluid Acrylic Paint in Anthra Blue mixed with GAC 500 which helped the paint harden and adhere to the dog.
Woo hoo!  Now all the grids start to be filled with dogs - each grid with a different dog involved in a different activity:  scratching, sleeping, chasing a frisbee, eating, begging, etc.  I transferred the designs using carbon paper, which was a bit difficult on a 3-dimensional object, but it gave me a rough  image to start with.  I continued using the same color I used for painting the gridlines.
