Goku is a Saiyan Warrior from the planet Vegeta. Raised on earth and taught to fight. After competing in the Bodukai competitions, Goku was soon singled out as being different from the rest of the earthlings because of his unexsplainable strength and of course... His tail. Later Goku revived the Super Saiyan proficy by becoming one himself.

Gohan, being half saiyan and half human, and Goku's first son, he had a great power level at a young age, deminstrating this against the fight with Radditz, his uncle from the planet Vegeta. As he got older he quickly harnessed this awesome power and became the world renouned hero known as The Great Saiyaman. It is still argueable who is the stongest being in the universe, him or his father.

Vegeta, born prince of the planet Vegeta. He also takes the pleasure of having the same name as the planet. At a young age, he was taken by Frieza to fight with the evil alien's planet stealing alliance. Later after many ordeals, Vegeta finally let his hate for Goku subside and found that being on the good side is far more rewarding than the bad side.

Future Trunks, a time traveler. He is Vegeta and Bulma's only son. Trunks traveled back in time to save Goku from a rare heart disease that eventually kills him. Trunks then goes back to the future after a long fight with Cell(who followed him to the present). He was born later and became one of the strongest saiyans in the universe.

Broli, as a baby on the planet Vegeta had a great powerlevel of 10,000(spectacular for a Saiyan baby, he was driving insane by baby Goku's crying. Later when Freiza blows up the planet, his father makes Broli, at 10 years old form a powerful barrier around them both so that they would the survive the blast. He is later controlled by his father again when they travel to Earth.

Krillin, a human monk was Goku's training partner at Master Roshi's Kame house. When they were younger, Krillin was the biggest of the two. But as time went by, he stopped growing. His character fades into the background when all the super saiyans get into the picture. Goku is Krillin's best friend.

Yamcha. a human thief first appeared in the origanal Dragonball series. He is well known for his long hair and his incredible fear of woman. His best friend Puar is usually seen hanging around him where ever he goes. Like other human characters in the show, Yamcha kind of fades away...

Choazu, a Young prince (I'm not all that sure). He's kinda of a dwarf like human... But anyway. He is probably the weakest of the Z fighters and really does not become much of a help in the later episodes. I think he's more of a fall back character... You know, the kind that always dies and gets in the way.
