I had already decided that I wanted to do Computer Engineering and after my HSC examination, I then joined Fr.C.R.C.E, Bandra-one of the premier engineering institutions in the University of Mumbai. The four years that I spent there were few of the most enriching and happiest times in my life. I learnt a lot during those times. I actually got to learn all the intricacies of computer science that had fascinated me. I also made some of the best friends I could ever have had. I can never forget those four years of my life. I graduated with a B.E.(computer) degree with first class in August 2000. I had decided to pursue higher studies in my chosen field. I am about to achieve that goal - having come here to the University of Florida in the CISE Dept in Fall 2000. Leaving my beloved Mumbai and coming here was not an easy task. It has been a different and difficult learning curve here. Living independently for the first time in my life was a challenge and an extremely enjoyable experience. After about two years now, its almost like a second home for me. I am almost on the verge of getting my masters degree now. I feel, these past two years have helped me a lot to grow as an individual and helped me to discover my interests and goals in the true sense. I am lucky to have found great roommates and friends here too. We have helped each other a lot through this phase at UF. Well, that's about it for my academic background. On my personal front, I enjoy spending time with my friends, talking to them and of course I like listening to music and sing too! (though, in the privacy of my home where my roommates are no doubt fed up of my "besura" singing by now.) I have been lucky enough to visit a few places in the US. I have been to most of the places of interest in Florida with my friends. We visited Orlando & Disney world in December 2000,Tampa/Busch Gardens in June 2001, Ichtuknee Springs in Nov 2001, and Miami-Key West in March 2002. Thanks to my cousin brothers, I have also visited Austin TX in January 2001 and San Francisco, Las Vegas in July 2002. Here is a picture of my younger sister, Nivedita a.k.a Nivi; my favorite person in this world. |
