| Karl Marx is one of the biggest intellectual in all of the history
of mankind. It is unfortunate that his theory of capitalism was
so influential. His theory has been discredited for some time
now, yet there are countries that adopt his ideology.
I wouldn't deny the human side of Marx, as exposed by Erich Fromm, but it is ironic that Marx's somewhat naive view of human nature has created so many inhumane regimes around the world. If capitalist and communist leaders are juxtaposed, the former might look like the lesser of the two evils. Marx is portrayed both as a young man and as Marx the world knows. |
