Defining Characteristics: This type was usually made on a expended core or large chunk.  Any somewhat flat surface even with cortex would suffice for a ventral surface.

Notes:  The quality of the material did not seem to matter all of the time.  Many examples of material were extremely poor for it’s flaking qualities.  One well used example was fire cracked, even though this could have happened after it was discarded.  Overall, this type is the heaviest.  The Ridge-Backed type(discussed later) on average weighed more but was a sample of only five, it most likely would lower if more samples were included.  This type also was the thickest on average.
