Toulouse is the 4th largest city in France. There are about 800,000 residents of which 100,000 are students. Toulouse is known as the aeronautical capital of Europe housing Airbus, Aerospatiale Matra and ATR--all world leaders in the designing and constructing of civil aircraft, such as the Aeropostale, Caravelle and the Concorde. Toulouse, also the European capital of the space industry, has devoted a section of the city for space exploration education and attractions such as a full-scale rocket and a replica of the Mir space station.

Although Toulouse has modernized itself and kept up with the latest popular industries, there is also centuries of history stored in and around the city. The french love to walk! So, there are lots of nice parks, gardens, and markets. And of course, there is the Garonne, where our apartment is situated next to. There is a lot to see in Toulouse, but even more to see in Southern France. Check the links page of this site for some great, informative web sites about this part of the country.
