ABOUT IIMB

Indian Institute of Management,
Bangalore
was established in 1973 by the Government of India with the intention of creating a Centre of Excellence for Management Education in India.
Meant primarily to cater to the PSU's, IIMB today is one of the
leading management institute in the country and the cadres who have passed through this hallowed portal are spread in corporate houses
across the globe.

Programs
Currently, IIMB offers three programs - The Fellow Programme, Post Graduate Programme (PGP) and the
Post Graduate Program in Software Enterprise Management (PGDSM). The Fellow program is the doctoral level program of the
institute and is recognized as an equivalent of PhD by the Govt of India. The PGP programme, undoubtedly one of the most sought after
courses for post graduation in India, is a two year program and covers various functional areas ranging from
marketing to finance to systems.The PGSM is a 3 year part time non residential program designed tocater to the needs
of Indian software professionals.

Computer Centre
IIMB has a world class computer centre that boasts of world class servers and workstations, operating 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The campus network is served by 2Mbps and 64kbs speed dedicated
internet connections.The Centre has a resonably good support infrastructure in terms of continuous
air-conditioning, UPS and a Generator.There are around 100 workstations( Compaq DeskPro,Pentium III with 128 MB RAM, 10 GB Disk, 10/100 Mbps Ethernet card) serving the computing needs of the students alone.
All rooms in the hostels have been provided with netwrok conncetivity and a majority of the students have personal PC's in their rooms.

Library
The Institute library is housed in a building of
55000 sq.ft of area spread over four floors. The library is open 24 hours
a day and 7 days a week,except on National Holidays. The
IIMB library has a comprehensive collection
of literature predominently related to Management and its allied subjects . Most of the library
activities are computerized using "LIBSYS" integrated software
package. For students who just cant study in their rooms, the Library serves
as the perfect "study".
