============
I. Introduction
============
The goals of lesson 3 are:

* Become familiar with how to counter each character

Note that whatever color I say you should build, I mean gbuild it on the left side.h

==================
II. Ryu
==================

Ryu's counter pattern:

R G B Y R G
R G B Y R G
R G B Y R G
R G B Y R G

I like to build red on the 2nd and 3rd columns (where G and B are).  In other words, I use Strategy #3 VS Ryu.
 Also note that Ryu drops yellow in the "drop" column.  I like to leave crash gems in the 3rd and/or 5th column in order to clear whatever he drops.  Keeping the "drop" column free will keep me alive longer.

============
III. Ken
============

Ken's counter pattern:

Y Y Y Y Y Y
B B B B B B
G G G G G G
R R R R R R
I like to build red VS Ken.  I prefer to use Strategy #2.

============
IV. Chun-li
============

Chun-li's counter pattern:

Y Y R R G G
Y Y R R G G
R R G G B B
R R G G B B
Note that Chun drops squares, which makes it easier for her opponents to give back significant damage.  Don't pick Chun unless you want to give your opponent a chance.

Against Chun, I like to build red in the 2nd & 3rd column (i.e. Strategy #2).  Building red in the 1st and 2nd will do too, but since there is no red dropped in the 3rd column, that isn't a good idea.  The key is to supplement what Chun drops - therefs no need to build too much red where you know you will already get some red there.

============
V. Sakura
============

Sakura's counter pattern:

G B B B B Y
G R R R R Y
G B B B B Y
G R R R R Y
I like to build green in the 2nd & 3rd column, or in other words, I use Strategy #3.  When Sakura has dropped a lot of gems on you, use the diamond on either red or blue - this will give you a huge block or red/blue.

============
VI. Morrigan
============

Morrigan's counter pattern:

Y B G G B Y
Y B G G B Y
B Y R R Y B
B Y R R Y B

This one is hard to say - I usually build blue using Strategy #3.  My reasoning: because only 2 blue fall in the leftmost column, dropping junk colors would make the blue I dropped in the 2nd column less effective.

============
VII. Felicia
============

Felicia's counter pattern:

G B B R R Y
G B B R R Y
G R R B B Y
G R R B B Y
Just like Sakura's pattern, I like to use Strategy #3.

============
VII. Hsein-ko
============

Hsien-ko's counter pattern:

R R G G Y B
B R R G G Y
B B R R G G
Y B B R R G
I also get confused about which color to build VS Hsien-ko.  I usually build blue VS her.  Blue should be built in 1st, 2nd, & 3rd column.

============
VII. Donovan
============

Donavanfs counter pattern:

B B B G G G
B B B G G G
R Y R Y R Y
R Y R Y R Y
I like to build red in the 2nd & 3rd column using Strategy #3.  My reasoning is that it's okay to put junk color in the leftmost column cuz red will fall in the 3rd column anyway.

=============
VII. Conclusion
=============
In this lesson, you should have learned several ways to counter specific characters.  There are more ways to counter a specific character than what I listed here; I just listed what works for me the best.

I'm still not good enough to compete VS expert human players, but I can now defeat expert level with only a few continues now.  Remember to experiment and be creative - you may realize a strategy experts use but I haven't discovered yet ^_^
