The Moment:
Fresh from a break (that lasted four months) in the City Of Angels - where she lived on sunshine, 40 cent tacos and the hope that it would all make sense. - Namugenyi (pronounced: NAM-OO-GENN-EE) returned to Toronto, completed her B.A in Journalism at Ryerson, and took charge of giving her destiny a chance. It did indeed make sense.
Knowledge is Power:
Following her dream, Namugenyi started out as an intern with Master T. s RapCity/DaMix, and after 6 months proceeded to integrate a new, part-time job as a Graphics Operator for Electric Circus to her full-time course-load at school. In summer, she split shifts as an overnight VTR operator, dubbing music videos and interned during the day. At any opportunity, Namugenyi could be seen riding shotgun with Much cameramen, eager to learn the craft, and begin capturing stories. She eventually won the opportunity to become the Urban Videographer for RapCity/DaMix and FAX.
In This Life:
Namugenyi was born & raised in Uganda, East Africa. Along with her parents, she survived a civil war and escaped to Canada in 1983 as a refugee.
