Kali wears a garland of 54 Human Heads, each one representing one of the letters of the sanskrit alphabet, symbolizing the repository of Knowledge and Wisdom.

The girdle of human hands represents the action of Karma.Three eyes represent Past, Present and Future.

Mahakali has Ten Heads, Ten Hands and Ten Legs. In one hand she holds the severed Head of the Demon Raktabija.Kali is seen being awakened by the unmanifest energy of Shiva beneath her Feet.
