Bonsai: a reflection of nature, captured in miniature, as seen through the eyes and soul of the practitioner

This is an oak tree growing on the side of Hwy 70 in Northern CA. There are many fine specimens growing along that route that I can see off in the distance. But all I had to do was pull off to the side for this one and wait till traffic was clear to get this picture.

This is a cottonwood growing on Beale AFB CA. Although I don't plan to grow any cottonwoods, this could be imitated by many other trees.

This is another oak tree growing off in the distance on a side road in Northern CA.

Another oak tree but this one has a nice full canopy instead of looking like it has fought for survival.

I have no idea what kind of tree this is. It sits off to the side of the building where I take my Tai Chi class. It has a nice multiple trunk though. I had to mess with the color contrast to make it visible but I think you get the picture.
