About me well, let's see hmmm okay, I'm a carbon-based, anthropoidial, biped, mortal and my label is Luke. I am currently located in the mighty black hole powered Milky Way galaxy, about 1/3 of the way out from the core on Orions Arm. The star which my home planet -Earth- and 8 other planets orbit, is called the Sun. The Sun is a middle aged, medium sized star, which is due to run out of fuel, so to speak, in about 5 billion years. The Earth, so far as we know, is the most perfect planet in the Universe for life. It supports millions of different species, the most dominant one being humans. There are 7 continents on Earth and I am situated on the one called Australia (which, I believe, means Southern Land in some other language). Australia is the biggest island on the Earth, but is mostly hot, dry desert, although there are a lot of places of breath taking beauty. In area Australia is 6th biggest, but there's only 18 million of us - which is as many as a fairly large city anywhere else. Federated in 1901, Australia has 6 states (plus 2 territories) and I am living in the state of South Australia. SA, unlike all the other states, was started by people who could afford to by the land (the other states where started by convicts). SA is the 3rd largest state in area but quite small in population. The capital city of SA is Adelaide - my city - and has a population of 1.5 million. We're world famous of our wines and also make the best flavored milk in the world. Some of the inventions you can thank us for are: the military tank, penicillin, the wine cask, spun concrete (allows creation of circular concrete pipes), electron microscope, and a whole lot of other stuff.
