Sunderland and Newcastle

The game at the Stadium of Light resulted in a 1-1 draw and was watched by 48,277 with a goal scored by Patrice Carteron on 66 minutes and then the equaliser came from Andy O'Brian in the 77th. The game was live on Sky and was, as expected, a very passionate event.

Newcastle and Middlesbrough
Both games this season have now been played!!
The first league meeting between the two was held at the Riverside Stadium and ended 3-1 to Newcaslte.
However Boro gained revenge on 17/3/00 at St James Park with a 2-1 win where Boksic got two goals and Carl Cort got the Toon Army's. Cort also won a penatly late in the game which was later missed by Solano who smashed it against the crossbar.
Middlesbrough and Sunderland
The first Wear-Tees derby ended 1-0 to Sunderland, celebrating their 2000th home league game. Click HERE to read fan's views.
The game at the Riverside on 9/4/01 finished 0-0 and was just as ,uch a physical game as the first which eventually resulted in the sending off of Christian Karembeu. This game was live on Sky and was entertaining in the sense that both teams had several opportunities to win it but it wasn't always pretty!
Darlington and Hartlepool
The first league meeting between the two ended... Hartlepool 2- 1 Darlington.
The second ended in a 1-1 draw and was watched by a crowd of 6,107
