Wave Race: Blue Storm Preview
By:  Bobby Neo

The Sequel to the Hit Nintendo 64 game, Wave Race. Even though there is no real game footage just pre-Rendered footage, I am already excited (And so is every other Nintendo Fan) for this great game. Being one of the most talked about Gamecube Demonstrations at Space World 2000, The footage showed off some Great Graphics.

Features . . .

  • The Nintendo Wave Race was 2 player, well the Gamecube sequel will be 4 player.
  • Other things that were in the Nintendo Version will be Improved Including, Improved Water Physics, Licensed Kawasaki Jet-Ski Brand, and highly realistic Character and Jet-Ski models.
Information on Wave Race 2 . . .
  • The Developer of Wave Race 2 is NST.
  • The Release Date is To Be Announced.
  • The Tracks will be Bigger than N64’s and there will be more of them.
  • An awesome soundtrack and good sound effects is expected.
  • A Deep Tutorial Mode will probably be added in also.
  • A option of a stunt mode or stunt tracks seems likely too.
I am beginning to think this will be a launch game for the Gamecube and probably so far one of the top Multi-player games. Hopefully with such a great game that is also a very good Multi-player game it will have online capabilities. At E3 Wave Race 2 could be one of the best games graphic wise. In a Genre that has barely any games for it being a water orientated game besides the Jet Moto series (that has died off about has bad as Tomb Raider) NST has done a very good job with this title so far.

NST Information . . .

These are the same people who brought you the great conversion of Ridge Racer 64 and Pokémon Puzzle League, which both are also based off existing games. If one thing is sure, it's that NST knows how to take an existing game and make it 5 times better. Pokémon Puzzle League, was really just based on a 2-D puzzler called, Tetris Attack. NST added in a ton of options based around the Pokémon theme. NST will make Wave Race 2 even a better conversion.
