Thornado

Development of Thornado, a 3D Shooter, is on its way to Nintendo's new next-generation console"Gamecube". Thornado is a super-fast shooting game that combines 3D action with exploration while you defend Earth from the invading alien force. This game will also feature two characters, a man and a woman, as well as a futuristic polygon environments which range from earth to outer space Due to lack of any details from Factor 5 not much is known, but we do know that the game's title refers to the player's ability to use the wind-based weapons which can blow enemies and obstacles out of the way. In Tokyo, Japan at the 2000 Spaceworld Show the IGNcube had the opportunity to get an advance peek at the kind of experience that we can expect from Thornado.

Some of the things you can expect are, the LucasArts/Factor 5 developed Star Wars Rogue Camecube title, The brief Thornado demo has all running in real-time on the console's powerful hardware. The game's main character, is a quasi-futuristic bloke with blonde hair and a trench-coat, he can be see running swiftly across a bridge as an explosion sends cars flying in every direction behind him. The Character is detail is Amazing, from the super-high polygon model to the way he moved with great realistic fluidity. You will also notice the individal animation of things such as the trench coat flapping and each finger on his hands individually animated. The main character "Thor" it has been said is capable of using wind-based weaponry and a very cool grappling hook system as a la Bionic Commando. To date no publisher has been named for the title as of yet. I am sure though that Factor 5 will have mo trouble whatsoever picking one up.
