Resident Evil Zero Preview

     Capcom’s Survivor Horror masterpiece for the Nintendo 64 moves to Gamecube. It will have a Nintendo Original Story line that will make it a little different that other RE games. Controls, mechanics and much more will be different in this game. While it wasn’t seen if Resident Evil zero had FMVs for the Nintendo 64, you can bet that there will be some jaw-dropping Cut-scenes and FMVs utilizing the Gamecube's awesome power. 

You are Rebecca Chambers in RE0. This time you have the chance to find out why all those Mutants, Zombies, and some pretty messed up dogs started popping up in Raccoon City in the first game. This time though, there's a major twist in gameplay as you blast those zombies. Also there has been hint to a second playable character in RE0. He has been popping up in the screenshots and his name is Billy. You'll need to control Billy to help Rebecca complete her mission. Whether or not players can switch back and forth between Becky and Bill in real time is unknown.

Also what will be implemented into the game that I know I have and probably all of you have wanted in to be able to drop useless weapons whenever you want instead of having to walk 30 minutes to the closest Chest. This means if you are low on left with a fire extinguisher that you no longer need and you find a medikit, Get that extinguisher the hell outta there and get that medikit. Still a question comes up though, Can you, as Rebecca, drop a loaded shot gun on the floor, take control of Billy, pick up the shotgun and then go attack that pack of zombies knowing you have a better chance of survival because Billy is healthier and/or stronger? We're not sure yet, but any step in that direction will make for an entirely different Resident Evil experience.

There are a few other cool features for Resident Evil 0 that have been hinted at. Designer Yoshiki Okamoto suggested in an interview last year that there may be a connection between RE:2 for the N64 and what was then known as Biohazard Zero. The extra EX files found in RE:2 may contain some information or clues that have something to do with your mission in Zero. This newest game is a prequel so it would be a nice bit of storytelling to have some part of the Resident Evil universe come full circle in some way. We don't want the Resident Evil universe to necessarily end, but wrapping things up and delivering the answers to all of our Umbrella Corporation questions will be very satisfying.

This all new RE game will be very unique and fun. With Capcom about to deliver the game so close to 64’s end and then moving it to Gamecube means you can look for more Capcom games and hopefully some more RE games for this great system.
