Throughout interviews I have been asked a variety of questions pertaining to my employment status, projected future situation, and what I expect to experience. I will list them here and provide my answer to simplify and streamline the q&a process for the interviewer's convenience.
"What attracted you to this company?"
I've been applying for graphic/web design positions advertised by a variety of companies. In my search, many of the positions encountered ask for skills and advanced experience that I don't have, but there are many such as yours I do indeed feel suited to fill. While I take the time to find out more about a company than what is presented on a job board service, I'm more drawn in by the requested skill set than the company's product or service, be it ice cream, shoes, automobiles, weblog services, or solely web/graphic design.
"What attracts you to this line of work?"I've worked with computers for years. As a professor's assistant in college I would help other students in the art dept., finding ways to help them to build mock-up templates for their own projects. I'm interested in creating minimal, stable code for web functions and efficient methods for displaying visual design and content.
"What would you say is your weak point?"
I'm never satisfied wth my work. I'm always looking for a better angle to solve a problem or execute a task presented to me.
"Why do you want to leave your current position?"
I have nothing against UPS; they're a great company to work for, and an early shift lets me avoid heavy traffic, but I crave the challenge of a design position. While I seek employment pertinent to my education and training, I have no desire to leave UPS until I attain such engagement.
