| Ayzlin and 98 Degrees took a soccer ball down to the park the next day. They split up into teams and kicked back and forth, up and down the field. At 'halftime' they sat on a bench in the park and talked. "So, Ayzlin tell me. Any new friends at school-particularly guy friends?" Justin asked. "No," she laaughed, "just the same friends." "Good, because if you did, your bubby might have to do some spying!" Nick joked. Ayzlin playfully punched him in the arm. "Nick, you'd never be able to do that," Jeff told him. "Why not?" "Because- there'd be too many fans blowing your cover!" Jeff replied. Everyone except Drew laughed. "What's wrong Drew?" Justin asked. "Just thinking about Kylee," he replied. "Have you talked to her yet?" Jeff asked. "No, I haven't tried. I'm too nervous. What if she wants to break up with me and she's waiting for me to call?" "Drew, c'mon. This is Kylee. She wouldn't break up with you just because you spent three days in Cinncinnati instead of Kentucky," Ayzlin assured. "You're probably right-" "Probably?" Ayzlin exclaimed, with a smile on her face. "C'mon guys, let's finish out this game." =========================================================================== When Ayzlin got home that day, she showered, and put on jeans and a t-shirt. She called her friend Amber. "Hey Amber. What's going down tonight?" " Football game tonight. It's a home game. We're also looking into a little mischief." "Sweet. Who are we playing?" "South Cinncinnati." "Ooh, they're good. But we're better! Besides, even if the do beat us, we'll win in the mischief department," Ayzlin said. There was a click on her end. "Hold on, Am, I've got another call." "Okay," Amber replied. "Hello?" Ayzlin answered the other line. "It's Drew. I called her." "Hold on. I've got Amber on the other line, but I'm gonna get off." She clicked over again. "Amber, I gotta go, but I'll be at your house in an hour, ok?" "Okay, see ya." Amber hung up and Ayzlin switched over to Drew. "Okay. What did she say?" "It's over Ayzlin. She told me that if she wasn't at the top of my priorities, then we shouldn't be together. She doesn't love me anymore. But I love her so much." "Oh Drew. I can't believe that. Are you going to be okay? Do you want me to come over?" "No, I'll be fine. I know there is a North- South game tonight. South is North's main rivals. Besides, you've got to help plan Senior Raid. You go to the game. But, I'm leaving tomorrow. Can you come over when you get home?" "It might be real late," Ayzlin warned. "That's alright. Can you still get in through the way we taught you when you were little?" "Yeah, I'll just do that. Talk to ya later." "Bye," Drew said. Ayzlin wasn't sure that she should wait to go over there. He sounded upset and he was her best friend. No, she decided./ He wants me to go to the game. Besides, maybe he just wants some time alone right now./ =========================================================================== "Hey Amber," Ayzlin said as Amber opened the door. "Hey. Have you thought of any ideas for tonight?" "Of course. I talked to Jeff and he gave me some ideas. First off, we go with the ever traditional, car decorations: shoe polish, toilet paper, balloons. You know that they never lock their cars when they come to North?" "No, I didn't know that!" Amber exclaimed. "Yup. And this will most likely be the last night they do it too. It's nothing fancy or big, but we put eggs, whipped cream and stuff like that on the seats of their cars." "Awesome. That takes care of their cars, but what else should we do?" "I dunno. Oh yeah, Jeff suggested going into their locker room while the game is on, and, decorating. That's definetly going to be this year's theme of Senior Raid. For the locker room we can do signs and crepe paper and balloons in our school's colors." Ayzlin finished. " We are so going to beat South- not only on the field, but off." Amber said. "You know it. Alright, we have two hours before we have to be at the game in time to hide our props in the locker room. Let work on theses signs and then we'll get ready and leave okay?" "Sounds good,"Amber agreed. The girls worked for awhile, then they showered and got dressed. They had Jeff come get them and take them to the since none of the North students were going to leave their cars at the game, because no one knew what South was planning for their Senior Raid. =========================================================================== At the first quarter, Amber, Ayzlin, and two other seniors- Chris and Wes- got up to "decorate" South's cars. Four of the guys went into the locker room to "decorate" there. It was dark and the air was cool when the car decorating began. All four of them were in dark clothing so they couldn't be spotted. They had only a few cars left when four South guys showed up. "Exactly what do you guys think you are doing?" a tall blonde asked. The four North students looked at each other. Finally, Ayzlin, who had learned to stick up for herself, spoke up. "You know what we're doing. There's no way you could be as stupid as you look." Chapter Two- Continued |
