To outline a few questions you may have, here are the answers. If you can't find what you are looking for here, please check the 'Rules of Roleplay' section in case it is there. If you have a question not answered in either area please contact the Mystic Crystal Realm Committee. The details on how to do so is in 'Contact Us'. Thank you. The Mystic Crystal Realm Committee. MCR is played out on a chat network called IRC. Windows users can use the freely downloadable program mIRC from www.mirc.com to access it. The actual roleplay is held on a StarChat server. Once you are connected to StarChat join #M.O.R.A. because this is the Out Of Character chat channel for our roleplay members. When you have found a nick that is unregistered (this is accomplished by typing the command /nickserv info UserNickName . If there is no one using it it will come up with: -NickServ- The nick UserNickName is not registered.) you type : /nickserv register UserNickName MyChosenPassword [email protected] . Nickserv will then tell you your nick has been temporarily registered for 24 hours and that it will be sending you an email. This is usually done within the hour you try to register it. Within the email, if you scroll down you will find a command line that says /MSG Nickserv (I think) with a bunch of letters and numbers and probably your chosen nick. You copy and paste this to StarChat. Try to be discreet because the first time it usually pastes it right in front of everyone. If you choose to paste it into the status window it will come up with a bad command. Something like - You are not on a channel. Don't stress. Press you're up button and it'll come up in your status line and all you have to do is press enter. Bingo. You're registered and ready to go! Okay now this one is tricky. If you come to the site and it comes up with Log In boxes and gives you the option to Join Community, click that button, fill out the forms and it will send the email to one of the Committee Members for process and access granting. This usually takes 24 hours if you are not online in the channel to tell one of the SOPs so they can process your request immediately.(These are the Committee members. Please be advised that not all the members with @'s next to their nicks are Committee members. We have four (4) Committee members and four (4) Supporting Administrators. Usually Supporting Administrators will have a + next to their nicks unless none of the Committee members are online, then the Supporting Administrators have control of the channels.) Once you have joined please read the House Keeping rules discussion in the Discussion area of the site. This will give you the rules on how to post to it. Now. The second problem is sometimes the log-in site doesn't load. This is a browser related problem. This only one of the Sops can help you with. And that is Manny (Horns). If you are having problems please log into the channel and ask for him. He is the only one who can help you unfortunately. My appologies for any inconveniences that causes but he is our resident technical expert who is the one who is on most often. No. You need to run your character by a Committee Member first (one of the channel SOPs). We appologise for this restriction but it is a necessity now. To make sure the character is applicable to not only the time frame, type of fantasy and such we also have to know what powers it is, what race, and other such things that could affect our other roleplay member's characters. You'll have to look at the MCR Rules Of Roleplay, most of our guidelines are covered there. We will be creating a list of acceptable races, their limitations, limitations on weapons and magic and other such things for you to look at so you can create your character, or modify them to fit the realm. If you have a unique race or character that you would like to bring in you are going to have to run their details past a Committee member. All this sounds very intimidating and restrictive but please know we are not going to be brutal. We are very accepting, accomodating and flexible as long as the rules of conduct are met. No member is above these rules. All roleplayers, including the Committee Members have to follow them or they will be kicked as warning, then temporary banned for twenty four hours, then three days, and then permanently banned. Any severe misconduct will result in a permanent ban straight out. All this serves only to help the standard of roleplay played out in our channels to become higher. Thank you for understanding.
