The Earliest Memory you have. Kyo: I don't remember which one was the earliest memory. I have a faint memory of the house I used to live in when I was 2. ++++ Kaoru: When I was around 2, I went out of the house and got lost. Apparently my parents thought it I was kidnapped and the police got involved and it was a great mess (laugh)! After walking about 2 km after going out the house by myself, I was found by a woman who lived next to us. I don't actually remember that. What I remember is that I was put on the luggage platform of the bicycle of the neighbour and taken home where there were loads of people who exclaimed 'wow, he's returned!' and lots of excitement (laugh). ++++ Die: When I was in nursery, my parents used to go to work before me so I went out and returned to the house by myself. I remember feeling very lonely. ++++ Toshiya: I remember being taken to a bazarre by my mother's side uncle and aunt and getting lost. I was still young so everyone looked so big and I was very frightened. I was worried that my uncle and aunt would not find me. When I was taken home, I was very glad because they bought me a model (laugh).++++ Shinya: The sink. I was put in the sink by my mother when I was to be bathed. That was probably when I was 1 year old. But I kept remembering it when I was 2 and 3 years old so I have never forgotton it. [What reminds you of it?] Shinya: For example, when I catch a glimpse of the sink and such?. [Do you think: hey wait a minute, I've seen this roundness before?? (laugh)] Shinya: Yes (laugh). But when I told my parents they were like - are you sure it was the sink and not the tub? I can't tell at the present! (laugh). The first time you went shopping by yourself Kyo: I think I bought carrots or turnip in a nearby grocery shop when I was around 5~6 years old. The first time you went to school. Kyo: I felt very lonely when I first started my primary school as I knew no one. Instead of a fresh new feeling, it was a surrounding that I had never been in before so I had a bad feeling, telling myself 'Do I really have to go to this school from now on?'. Till now I hated my surroundings to change. ++++ Kaoru: Instead of remembering my first experience of going to school, I remember THE first school I went to. When I was just about to start 2nd year, there was a new school which opened in my local area and a lot of people moved to that school. And as it was a new school, there was some kind of plastic on the black board. [Like a new car? (laugh)] Kaoru: Yes, yes (laugh). You don't get many chances to rip the plastic off the black board do you? I remember thinking 'There's never gonna be another chance' and I ripped the plastic off. ++++ Die: Whilst coming back from the new people's ceremony, I went to a sweet shop. But I don't remember what I bought there. The first time you learnt something new Kyo: The first thing I probably learnt was swimming. It was near my house so I was allowed to go there. When you're young, you find it fun to go to the pool don't you? I got a badge saying that I could swim 25m. I remember feeling very happy when receiving each badge. I am very good at crawl and back-stroke. I am especially fast at the crawl. But breast-stroke looked as though it made your feet hurt so I didn't like it. ++++ Die: Yamaha's Electone (an electronic organ). I think I started it when I was in nursery and it wasn't very fun, so I quit immediately. When I think about it now, I should have learnt it (laugh). ++++ Toshiya: It must be Kendou. I think maybe my parents made me learn it to discipline me as I do not remember ever asking to do it. I didn't not want to learn it as at that time, there was a cartoon (hinachan- called something no ken). I was doing kendou from the beginning of primary school till the third year of secondary school (hinachan - chuugaku 3 nensei). ++++ Shinya: It must have been the Electrone (electric organ) class in my local area that my parents made me go to. My parents would always put my stationary and books in a bag and prepare it for me. One day, I went to my Electrone class and when I opened my bag, there was a puzzle that had nothing to do with the class in it. (laugh). In the end, I stopped going after twice. As I had not taken any books and stationary, I couldn't understand the class. |
