Craft Projects
I made a bunch of these little drawstring jewelry bags for Christmas gifts for all the women in my husband's family.  They all live in England and the postage rates are very high so we always try to send lightweight gifts.  I bought yards and yards of this chintz fabric on clearance at Hancock's for $1 a yard a few years ago and I've made SO many gifts from it!  The inside of the bag has several little pockets for the jewelry to stay separated.  We put a pair of earrings in each bag and everyone loved them.
My mom and I saw these little Victorian travel sewing kits in a specialty quilt shop selling for $20 a piece!  I came home and copied it for less than $3.  The outside has a store-bought doily for decoration (didn't have time to crochet my own!) and the inside has little felt "pages" that have straight pins, safety pins, needles, extra buttons, a cardboard thread bobbin with a few different colors of thread wrapped around it, and there's a little pair of folding scissors tied into the middle with a ribbon.
My Log Cabin quilt square pincushion.  Stuffed with polyfil and there's a little button sewn down into the middle of it.  A welcome change from the old red tomato.  : )
My favorite purse/diaper bag.  This is basically my own pattern that I kind of adapted from another tote bag pattern.  The inside is lined in yellow and has a pocket made from the outside material.  I can carry all the stuff I need for 2 small kids plus my wallet and other "mommy stuff" without looking like a pack mule! : )

Here is a picture of one of the aprons I've made from a 1950's vintage McCall's pattern I bought on eBay.  The first one I made didn't quite fit right so I altered this one slightly and it works much better.  I like that it covers up my shoulders because it keeps the baby spit-up off my clothes!  : )  Plus the big pockets on the sides are great for stuffing things in when I'm picking up the house.
