   When trying out a few pairs of new or 2nd hand skates, make sure your toes are able to wiggle up and down and the sides and back have a nice snug fit. Check the buckles and laces to see if they are working well or apply oil on the buckle closure.

   Measure your feet in the afternoons because that is when your feet are the largest. It's science, your feet expands. Place one foot against a wall and measure using a 15 cm ruler for the width of your foot and a 30cm ruler for the length of your feet. Use a longer ruler if needed. Try your best to take exact measurements.

   Add 2cm to the measurements of the length of your foot and 1 cm to the measurements of the width of your foot.The final length will determine roughly the size of your skate liner.

Maybe you would want a cheap beginner skate like roces khuti or the salomon st-60. Get something with abec 3 to abec 5. You don't want to go uncontrollably fast.

::First Curb::

   Find a curb that is slighty below your knee. Start with waxing the curb with candle wax. Remember to warm up and do some leg stretching exercises first before skating and doing any tricks. Start by jumping up onto the rail without your skates a few times and once your pretty confident you can jump that high, try jumping on them with with skates on and try grinding.
