You will notice that I have few sci-fi books to trade. This is because I'm a lot more picky about the science fiction books I read and usually I buy only those books I'm going to keep. The authors I always want are Ursula Le Guin, Robert Heinlein (of whom I have almost complete collection by now), Robert Asprin, Frank Herbert, Zenna Henderson, Anne McCaffrey, Lois McMaster Bujold, Mercedes Lackey, possibly Robert Silverberg. Anyway, if you're willing to suggest a good book, I'd be glad to discover another good author. Here is the list of the ones that were recommended to me recently, I haven't read most of them, and I will be willing to take almost any book as long as it is a stand-alone title or the first in the series

Robert L. Forward (Especially Dragon's Egg), Bruce Sterling, Walter Jon Williams, Patricia McKillip, Terry Pratchett.

I definitely want these:
Alfred Bester -- The Demolished Man
Lois McMaster Bujold -- Komarr **
Robert L. Forward -- Dragon's Egg
Diana Wynne Jones -- Changeover
Dan Simmons -- Hyperion
Sherri Tepper -- Family Tree
Sherri Tepper -- The Gate to Women's Country
David Weber -- Flag in Exile
Patricia Wrede -- Caught in Crystal
Particia Wrede -- Daughter of Witches
Patricia Wrede -- Shadow Magic
Patricia Wrede -- Sorcery and Cecelia
Patricia Wrede -- The Seven Towers

I also enjoy good mystery. My favorite authors are Agatha Christie, Erle Stanley Gardner, Rex Stout, Dorothy Sayers, Anne Perry. I prefer classical mystery and historical mysteries, and almost never read hard-boiled, "true crime", mysteries involving maphia or political detective. I'm very open to the recommendations in this area, since I read relatively few authors so far. Here are some mysteries I particularly want to get
Jean Auel -- The Clan of the Cave Bear
Jan Burke -- Goodnight, Irene
Roberta Gellis -- A Bone of Contention
Sharan Newman -- The Devil's Door
Elizabeth Peters -- Crocodile on the sandbank
Elizabeth Peters -- Children Of The Storm (PB only)
Elizabeth Peters -- The Golden One
Elizabeth Peters -- The Hippopotamus Pool
Elizabeth Peters -- The Snake, The Crocodile and The Dog
J.D. Robb -- Betrayal in Death
J.D. Robb -- Glory In Death

In addition to English, I can read Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, French, so you can offer me books in any of those languages, though I generally prefer originals to translated versions. I may also be interested in trading for textbooks/language guides/dictionaries for any of these languages.

A special wish
I'm looking for a book by a Turkish author Resat Nuri Guntekin called "Calikusu: the autobiography of a Turkish girl". To my best knowledge, the only English edition was published in London, 1949, and the book is not available from any on-line booksellers, so it is next to impossible to find. If you have it, I will be extremely willing to trade for it or buy it for any reasonable amount of money.
