Kythorn 26

Ariana sends word ahead to the elves expressing the parties desire to assist and sets up a meeting in an acceptable part of the forest (the elves are still untrusting of other races). 

Kythorn 28

Little of note happens on the way to meet the elves. An encounter with a “demon spider” sets Ariana on edge; the myrlochar are known to serve the Drow. At the assigned meeting place, Sharn Zereth, one of the elves commanders, greets the party. He explains that the initial incursions were handled by the elves. They are now exploring possible beachheads into the forest being established by orcs and bugbears.

Kythorn 29

The party journeys to one of these supposed outposts, an old fort on the edge of the forest. The party discovers it is active and patrolled by orcs. The party also discovers a small outpost outside of the fort. After defeating a few guards and zombies the party discovers that this outpost apparently is used by the orcs to make zombies. The second surprise comes in the form of finding a mystical portal. It is not active but may explain some of the myrlochar. Ariana and Dane debate as to whether the portal is Drow made. The party returns to the elves having assessed the fort and wanting additional support.

Kythorn 30

The elves are spread thin. They provide a squad of archers and a knock scroll to help take the fort back. The party plans and heads out. With the distractions of the archers, some well placed use of “entangle” and plain old team work, the fort is captured with some prisoners, including an apparent orc leader.
