| 9/24/05 - Pats 20 month stats & accomplishments Patrick is talking up a storm. I'm not listing his vocabulary anymore, I tried to keep count but at 300 words it was an intimidating project! He repeats nearly everything he hears now, although it's usually prefaced with the word "No". Here's a typical conversation: "Pat, let me change your diaper." "No change diaper!" "Look, it's got Mickey Mouse on it!" "No Mickey Mouse diaper!" "Sit down, Patrick." "No sit down Packet!" "Yes, sit down." "No Yes!" And then one of my favorites, "I love you Patrick." "No wuv you!" He's also really added a lot of phrases and even complete sentences and it's getting to be a lot fun for us, since we can almost hold a conversation with him! It's so nice that he can tell us what he wants almost all of the time. Here are a few things heard around our house these days: "I want juice" "More some" (when we're giving him "some" of something) "I want green one" "Sit down mommy" "Sit down Packet" "Upstairs, color" "Daddy goin' outside" "Ride the wheeler" We took a road trip to Charleston, South Carolina for a long weekend to attend my brother Brett's wedding on September 24th. We had a wonderful time, and Pat got to play on the beach. He was so excited as we approached the beach, and kept stopping to play with the sand. As soon as we came within sight of the ocean, however, he got a bit overwhelmed and did not want to be put down in the sand! We, being the cruel type of parents we are, did it anyway. For about an hour, he sat facing away from the ocean, as if it didn't exist as long as he didn't look at it. After he tired of sitting in one place, he started to crawl - not walk - around. He kept his head down though. Eventually he reached the water's edge, and at that time, fortunately, the tide was low and he soon discovered that sand was much more fun when mixed with water! I hope you enjoy the many beach photos this month! |

| Photos of Pat with his cousin Cameron (the big boy); the sweet baby girl is a distant enough relative that I can't quite describe the relation! | ||||||||||||||||
