Welcome to my mind:-)
This is where I will attempt to describe some of the things that happen in our homeschooling lifestyle. That's really what it is you see - a lifestyle. Parts are more structured out of necessity (writing, some math), but much is simply a natural extension of loving life and learning.

Today is a lazy pajama day, which also seems necessary once in a while:-) Two kids are officially sick and others are showing signs of being off-kilter, so the day calls for plenty of PBS, computer games and homemade soup:-) Sequoia cooked cracked wheat cereal for breakfast and soup is simmering for lunch - though Kaisa only wants the saltines.
Keegan is turning a piece of Apricot wood into a wizard's wand. Baby Kira is down for a nap.
Maybe I can figure out a couple of webpages while there is no one in my lap:-)

Keegan watched an excellent program this morning called Treehouse Detectives which explored our water cycles as the main-character kids were concerned about water shortages and weather patterns affecting the success of the car wash they had planned. They mentioned what I know as "water witching" with a divining rod, but didn't say if a specific type of wood is used -- need to research that more as Keegan was facinated and asking if "that's really true?" Wish I was better at web searches. Did find a site with a variety of time zone maps - Nice time of year to talk about that:-)
Just got a call that Keegan's piano lesson is canceled today - Jen is sick. That's ok - give a bit more time to run a couple of errnads which Keegan will assist with, while girls are at Tracy's.
He's doing well with piano, but as usual it's too easy for him - he needs reason to put forth more effort. She's a great teacher, very positively reinforcing. I've broken up his practice time to twice a day for shorter times, instead of a long half hour to get bored with.
Gotta run do those errands. Kids have been cleaning up.
Interested in the reasons we homeschool?? Many of the answers can be found at HomeschoolUtah or it's sister site LDS-HEA as well as many other websites and articles written by both homschooling parents and children. When I figure out a way to cut and paste in this program, I will add some things I have written in my discussion groups.
NOTE: I do not have a "guestbook" and have not yet decided if I want one. If you have a comment *PLEASE* EMAIL ME :-) :-)
