We've been up at my buddy Jessica's for the last few days -- having a blast with Thanksgiving and Christmas crafts and goodies, and just plain playing:-) Kira has been marvelously content crawling around - after the first night's sleep she accepted the bed we were in and took her naps without complaint:-) Yea!! (btw, Kira turned 9months on Friday and has *finally* popped through her fourth tooth for the occasion - the first came through on her 8month mark)
Today it's a few more hours of said fun, then we have to head back south before dark falls (5:30 these days). I have a dinner to attend at church and the kids will need a bath and clean clothes - I didn't bring enough - barely brought any, as I haven't gone through the winter clothing buckets yet (Bad Mom!), so they only had a few warmer things acquired more recently. (And Jessie's dryer is on the fritz - not handy in this cold weather.) Poor girls need pants more than anything, and Jess & I are going to make a leggings pattern from an exisiting pair, so I can use the material from some old stretch denim ones that I have shrunk out of (another "yea!") to make the girls some. If my sewing machine cooperates of course. The tension keeps getting confused as to it's job. But at least most of it will be done on the serger and I can hand-stitch the waist if need be. And meanwhile Sequoia will learn a bit more. She's taken a keen interest in Mommy chores lately:-) and it's about time to start our yearly holiday crafts which include more stitching practice on felt ornaments.
Well. it's quiet down in Jessie's office/sewing room, but I think kids are up - better go check on and get things rolling :-/
Oh! Tomorrow is a field trip to the Dino Museum with Tammy and friends:-) :-)

Field trip was terrific:-) I couldn't help but post 4 pages of photos -- and could have posted more! Here they are - starting with page 1 of course;-) After getting in late Tuesday eve, I let the kids wake up at their leisure , then misjudged the drive - it was 45mintues, not 30. Then on the drive I remembered that I had spent my last cash, so had to find an ATM. Ah well, an hour  late, but that allowed Kira a short nap;-) In the future I'll plan recovery time in between our trips;-)
So, today was Recovery Day. Keegan complained of stuffy sinuses which I had been feeling too - luckily Actifed didn't knock me off my feet like it did him;-) So he got to see Christopher Reeves in Superman, borrowed from Jess. (Thanks Jess!!) I caught up the laundry and the girls sorted their winter clothes - after dumping them out of the buckets they were already sorted into <rolling eyes>.  Sequoia is coming along well with her reading - that was something Keegan could help with, without moving too much;) It was also errand day, so the girls went to Tracy's and Keegan stayed on the couch while I ran into town for a bit.

The week has disappeared on me, so tomorrow the house is due for an overhaul, and some bulk cooking -- I sure hope everyone is feeling well.
After phonics and math of course...

Well, obviously it's been a while since I wrote!! I'm finding the process of "blogging" to be emotionally exhausting. First off, I write the important points of my life in notes to friends/family frequently during the week - keeping copies of those communications has served as my journal since my early teens. (There isn't anything I'd want on paper that I wouldn't say to my friends, so a private journal has never been of interest.) Secondly, this "pagebuilder" thing is a pain to download and arrange just to make an entry for the day -- I don't have time to bother with it. After the NewYear I'll see more about paying a small fee for a legitamate private blogging site. (there are several free public ones - not interested in being public.)

Meanwhile, we were up at Jessie's again, having a more fun:-)  Back home, finally arranged the plans for Christmas, and decorated. Erik and Vernoica will be home for the holiday, then we will head out to CA and drop off girls with grandparents. I will return to UT with only Keegan and Kira, to begin packing. Still don't know when we'll be out, but I can't play "Damage Control" with the girls and pack at the same time, so this is the first step. Offical/scheduled schooling obviously gets put on hold.
Karate is out til after the holidays, so today has no other plans than cooking and cleaning:-)
