A Tight Knit Community
A pathfinder to knitting resources at your public library
Introduction: For more than three years now, Camp Knit-a-Bunch has been  meeting in  the library on Tuesday nights.  This lively and informal group includes knitters of every skill level--some just learning, some quite skilled.  The group is open to anyone interested in knitting, learning to knit, or who might have a question or two about knitting.  The "campers" delight in introducing knitting to the library patrons.

Early on, the library staff wanted to support these unique visitors, and we began to develop a collection of knitting related resources.  We now offer one of the most in-depth knitting collections in the state.

This pathfinder is designed to showcase items in this collection and to help patrons quickly locate items of interest.  These resources, while primarily of interest to knitters, also contains many items suitable for non-knitters.

Please use the links listed to the left to see several of the featured items in our collection.  You will find information on the history of knitting, patterns, reference sources, fiction books in which knitting plays a part, as well as links to several sources for information and inspiration available on the Internet.

Please remember, this is a pathfinder and showcases only part of our collection.  If you don't find what you are looking for, don't hesitate to stop by our reference desk and speak with Cynthia.  An avid knitter herself, she is happy to help you to find the right resources to meet your needs.
