The Good Very effective against tanks and structures. Elite GIs are great - can take on grizzlies and rhinos 1 on 1 and can outrange pillboxes. Can garrison buildings.
The Bad Only so-so against infantry. Can get squished.
How to Use GIs are absolutely essential against a good soviet rhino rusher - mix in with grizzlies to stop the rush. A well placed paradrop can wreak havoc. Place near pinch points.
How to Stop dogs, desolators, snipers, rocketeers, pillbox (set before paradrop lands), mirage, prism tank, squish them

The Good Great scouters, cheap, kills infantry easily, invincible when jumping
The Bad Easily dies, dog wars are random
How to Use Scout in the beginning, eliminate most infantry (especially paradrops), use as cannon fodder in tank battles. When encountering other dogs, press (s)top or (g)uard to increase your chances of winning. Protect defenseless engineers.
How to Stop Squish them, pillboxes, terror drones, scatter conscripts or deploy GIs, sniper

The Good Capture Tech Buildings, steal enemy buildings, repair buildings
The Bad No armor, slow
How to Use Capture tech buildings early. Place in IFVs or nighthawks to increase chances late-game. Protect them with a Tanya or other units. When trying to capture a building, queue up another structure (barracks, pillbox, etc) to place immediately. Sneak engi attacks away from the main assault, so your opponent will not easily spot it.
How to Stop dogs, terror drones, rocketeers, pillboxes, snipers, desolators

The Good Early, mobile air units. Awesome in packs, especially against Allied.
The Bad Extremely weak armor. Relatively expensive.
How to Use An early one can scout without facing a "dog war." Good on maps like May Day. Harass the enemy with them (in packs, of course). Take out tech buildings, and if possible, enemy structures (power first so defenses go offline). One of the few counters against desolators.
How to Stop A little flak goes a long way against rocketeers. 1 flak track can take about 5 rocketeers, while 1 flak cannon spells doom. IFVs are much weaker - only about 3 rocketeers.

The Good a1versatile GI, can blow up structures and ships, kills infantry easily
The Bad very weak armor, obvious warning given, very annoying
How to Use Use to support engi rushing. Or sneak one in a nighthawk on the other side of the base while launching a tank assault. Blow up ships in emergencies.
How to Stop Pillbox, sniper, desolator, terror drones, tanks, rocketeers, planes

The Good Can turn the tide of a game
The Bad Way too obvious, easily stopped, has no defense
How to Use Use with discretion. Perhaps a sneak run with a Tanya while distracting with tanks. Putting the spy in a war factory, barracks, or battle lab is the best.
How to Stop These guys are so obvious you should be able to detect them from very far away. Almost anything can kill them easily.

The Good Fast unit
The Bad Weak armor, too expensive
How to Use Mainly to pick up random crates, or put in an IFV and take out enemy miners.
How to Stop Anything. Just make sure you bring more than 1!

The Good Carries C4 and has Yuri powers as well.
The Bad Hard to get, still vulnerable. Expensive
How to Use Mix with an attack, so this guy can take out enemy structures while your main force cripples his forces.
How to Stop Pillboxes, dogs, terror drones

The Good Can jump around blowing buildings up
The Bad Wear armor, hard to get
How to Use Exploit weak points in enemy base. Chrono a little at a time, and avoid pillboxes
How to Stop Pillboxes, armored units

Country Specific Units

The Good Neutralizes all enemy infantry. Becomes elite fast.
The Bad Needs an AFC, and does not particularly help much against an early Soviet rush.
How to Use You must put them in an IFV. Place one in your base to protect from all infantry attacks, and if your opponent is mixing infantry with tanks or has them at a choke point, take them out.
How to Stop Tanks, rocketeers, planes, terror drones
