Acidtank - Play like Acidtank (pinch point)
Pinch point is a widely used map online. It is also available in Quickmatch. THe map is mostly balanced except that the left side has a little less ore. However most games are decided rather quickly on this map so usually it doesnt matter what side you start on.
Now the main point of this map is controlling the middle or the pinch point. Usually if you manage to control the 'pinch point' then the game is yours. America has to be the best side to use on this map and i`ll explain why. America gets free paradrops and those paradrops can be used to reinforce your forces in the middle. Drop a couple in the middle and one one each ledge. This gives you a BIG advantage over the enemy if pulled of successfully.
Games on this map can finish REAL fast. One of the famous players ATankB0mb(also known as AcidTank) is one of the best players on this map. His strategy involves picking America as his country. He starts the game by building a powerplant and then a refinery. Once refinery finishes he forgoes the barracks in favor of Airforce Command. This enables him to get access to paradrops immidiatly. Then he builds a barracks followed by a warfactory from which he starts pumping out tanks. Now as soon as he makes the barracks he usually either scouts with a couple of dogs or with a rocketeer. By the time he has 2-3 tanks his paradrop is ready. This is where his strateg comes into play. He sends all his forces(2-4 tanks , 2-3 dogs and 1-2 rocketeers) towards the enemy base while he Paradrops the Gi's infront of the enemy base. By the time his forces reach the enemy base the Gi's from the Paradrop have landed. He uses the GI's & Tanks to push into the enemy base deploying the GI's whenever some enemy unit comes close. The tanks, dogs , rocketeers and Gi's are usually enough to kill most people.
This tactic is EXTREMELY hard to stop on this map. The only way you can stop it is if you know its coming. A few dogs underneath the paradrop can usually deal with it unless he kills your dogs with his dogs , tanks or rocketeers. Dont make an initial harvester out of your warfactory and instead concentrate on making a lot of tanks. If you are iraq you might wanna go radar asap after the warfactory and make a desolator which totally stops the allied attack. Though keep in mind his rocketeers will try to kill your desolator..in which case you might wanna have a flak track.
Anyways this set aside if you stop the initial rush then immidiately go and occupy the middle. In quickmatches remember that crates are on so have a few dogs run around to scout and pick up any crates u might see. Allies can easily own the middle by placing a few mirage tanks on the ledges. If the enemy occupies the middle then try to use your ledge as the stagging point for your forces. Make sure he doesnt occupy your ledge with paratroopers. Each ledge has a garrisonable building which helps in fortifying it. If the game carries on and you have control of your ledge you might wanna consider moving your mcv close to the gem field on your ledge and building a few refineries there. This is a risky but rewarding maneuver.
Allies can use rocketeers for annoying hit & run tactics on this map. If he has his antiair forces in the middle then go hit his base, or if he has em in his base then go hit his ground troops in the middle. Due to the low ammount of money and rush nature of this map most people dont waste money building an Anti Air turret so rocketeers can be pretty effective.
Thats it folks. Did u find this issue of Tip Of The Day usefull ? Or was it totally crappy ? Dont forget to leave your comments.
Good luck commander!

Hey, this is probably common knowledge and all, but it might help someone out.
Even when the shroud is not uncouvered on part of the map, you can still tell what is going on simply by.......listening. Scroll so that your tacical view is over any part of the map, and you can hear everything that is going on.
Finding an Allied player's base is easy, because you can hear his miner "shifting" back to the ref.
I find this most valuble if your scouting fails againts a rocky rusher. You can hear every single rocky come out ofhis barracks.
Rhino tanks also make a lot of noise when they move. Mirage tanks make a distinct humming kind of
niose. You can even hear GIs deploying.
You can hear things loading into a flax track (I think.) Do I HEAR an enjy rush?
This is good if your scouting failed or if his base is gapped. Don't sit there watching a black screen by all means! I'm just saying that you can hotkey (F#) their base to listen in on things or hear where their chrono miners are if you are going to tank rush on a confusing map and your scouting failed.

The test - on three different maps, I set game speed second from maximum, enemy set to russia, supers off, build 15 rhinos then sell my refineries. Put an engie in a derrick then destroy the derrick at the end of 3 minutes (use stop watch).
Heartland: Each derrick (both tested) gave $2020 over 3 minutes of real time, or
$675 per minute.
Cold War: Each derrick (7 tested) gave $2900 over 3 minutes of real time, or
$970 per minute.
Alamo: Each derrick (3 tested) gave $3300 over 3 minutes of real time, or
$1,100 per minute. The bottom right derrick produced the same as the other two, contrary to popular belief.
MayDay: $2260 in 3 minutes or $750 per minute (2 derricks tested from different groups).
South Pacific: Same as MayDay, $2260 in 3 minutes or $750 per minute.
Conclusions: 1) all derricks on a given map produce the same, 2) for these 3 maps, the derricks on each map produced differing amounts.

Shut up "legi0nair".
Skill only means one thing; a better player always have less of a life and he is a more pathetic geek then a not so good player.

Most of the time theres nothing special about my buildorder.
Altough i do click fairly fast (ive been playing RTS games at the highest level for almost 4 years now daily), and I do play a lot (yes im a pathetic geek with no friends that never gets any and uh ok).
But I have been thinking about writing a strategy guide. I do have some unique builds, and some unique aproaches to the game.
So if someone out there is really (i seriously mean really good) good with making webpages and want to help me out send me a mail.
If you want to play me ask me on WWOL when im IN A CHANNEL. If im not afk or very very busy ill answer. Im a nice guy, well atleast thats what my mother used to say.

OMFG for that lame comment, I would have trashed your ass if I was sitting next to you. I made a new nick 5 days ago and 2 days later westwood reset both nicks, even tho I only played 3 games against a few rooks with the new nick, yeah I must be a great cheater to get myself reset right? or maybe westwood must be a bunch of fricking morrons..
LAMER!!!!!!!!! shut your mouth up and mind your own buisness

BGrail you prove your stupidity over and over again.
For the record I still think it was wrong to reset you and its wrong to call you a cheater (from what we know).
But its very very right to call you an idiot, because that is what you are.

GC gimme a ****ing break man.
1) I get accused of cheating after smart westwood just reset my rank unjustfully.
2) I'm now also being called a morron by a guy who doesn't know me...
wow yeah I wonder how you would feel if I started some lame thread accusing you of cheating, and then 2 days later come back to add that you are such a big big morron..
I bet you would feel great..

Ive said my piece, like it or not, I dont care.
What you can do in the future is to think before you "open your mouth" though. That includes trying to figure out what sarcasm means and that includes figuring out how to deal with people who only know that you have been reset. Its not a crime to be stupid though, so dont blame yourself.

Ra2holy, BGrail (Black Grail) beat GoTanksGo 3-2 in a huge swedish tournament. He won $3,500. That ain't too shabby.
The tournament was an all map tourney. They played these maps:
Isle of War - They had to play the first game on IoW - GoTanksGo won
Heartland - BGrail's choice - GoTanksGo won
Country Swing - GoTanksGo's choice - BGrail won, but mostly because he was lucky. BGrail tried to eng GTG's nuke silo, but neither BGrail nor GoTanksGo knew that it wasn't possible so GoTanksGo SOLD the nuke silo, and BGrail got the win.
South Pacific - BGrail's choice - BGrail wins
Country Swing (again) - GoTanksGo's choice - BGrail wins easily. BGrail eng rushed GoTanksGo within 10 minutes.
The complete stats of the finals in that tournament:
1. BGrail
2. GoTanksGo
3. GosuDaRed
4. TiaxTss
5, 6, 7- aPRLYago (me), lshamaei, StarELITE
It was really cool meeting GoTanksGo and BGrail in real life . They are both really cool guys, and it was great fun playing them. BGrail's speed really amazed me. His hands were moving 24/7! Not a single second when his hands were held still! Amazing!!
There were a total of about 200 participants in this tournament. Everyone except for BGrail (<----danish) was Swedish. My point is, BGrail rocks
