KOSSOVE "The Blackbirds" orchestra is created in 1986. This is a family orchestra. Zhivko Alexandrov for many years toured villages and towns with various orchestras for many years while awaiting for his sons, Vlado and Dancho to grow up. (The blackbirds are midsize with red beaks. They sing very beautifully, but quite sadly)

From the very beginning it turned out to be a success. Vlado plays the accordion, and Dancho the clarinet. A guitarist and a percussionist work with them too.

Before going public there were eight years of private work. In those eight years Vlado and Dancho changed several times the arrangement, the fingering on the instruments.

In 1988 "Kossove" auditioned several girls who were not professional singers and chose Millena. The orchestra themselves billed her as a soloist of "Kossove". Later Millena and Dancho got married.

"The Kossove" perform folk music from the Rhodop mountain, Macedonia, Thrakia, Shopsko, Dobruzha, as well as pop and urban folklore. They have four albums with their own sound recording, by the firm "Raydan" and sound engineers, Kalin Bukov and Ruslan Chernev. Raydan's owners are Raicho Pachov and Dancho Aleksandrov all from Zlatograd.

Soon Vlado's wife Nevena will join the group as a soloist and clavier player. Only Sasha - the wife of Zhivko and the mother of Vlado and Dancho, the most charming one from the musical family - is not in the orchestra, but she is the soul of "The Kossove"

"The Kossove" was extremely popular during the early years of their formation because Zhivko Alexandrov was the primary singer. No one who hit the road to foreign countries left without a Zhivko's tape. His music traveled to Israel, Yemen, South Africa, Komi, Canada, Mozambic?, Tunisia, Algeria, Austria, Turkey, Libia and many other places including the U.S.A.

"The Kossove" perform with much diligence and love their cordial and melodious music that springs from the soul.
