1 in 12 legitimate sites may be accidentally blocked by Australian filters based on a secret black list. However internet censorship has been a ongoing worry for governments around the world. Even Wikipedia and yahoo have something to say about this. I personally thought internet self-censorship would be the path Australia would take! The World Wide Web (internet) is not easy to understand for the typical user. The previous (failed) NetAlert was a intended as part of a self-censorship program by the Australian government, that was not aimed at dictating to every Australian Internet user what they should or shouldn't see (Senator Coonan (Liberal) assures Internet users [Dated: Thursday, June 22, 2006 and accessed: ]). |
There are several good style manuals you can buy and they are as handy as a dictionary or thesaurus. The author consider them a must have Item (like a dictionary).
With the existence of the Internet there are options that were not available in the past. In time of difficulty or when you have to move around, you can still get your references to style manuals and referencing here!!!
The author considers documents as never really finished. You do a draft, Intermediate, and finalized copy (never really perfect anyway). The author does not have the time or is often stuck with primitive Interfaces where spell checking is not even possible. So some of my stuff can be a little rough at times, even on the web sites the author produce. The author supposes that is why the perfect copy writers are something every writer dreams of having...
This site (http://www.nasa.gov) NASA home page; as of Wednesday, 03 September 2008, contained some really interesting stuff about how space exploration impacts your daily life.
I particularly liked the picture of a plant in the living room. A former NASA engineer developed a biological filtering system that pretty much to you and me looks just like a plant in a pot.
There is lots of other cool stuff also about how space exploration impacts on your daily life including tooth paste, guitars and so on.
It is well worth a look at. I have often had people say to me "what is the use of space exploration?" I am glad that NASA has provided answers about this question in such a clear manner.

this picture is from a gallery, but also take a look at this site: milky-brown. The gallery has photos International and local people mostly and occasional snaps of animals and objects—with people around them. The site both shock and interests me. The people, animals and objects photographed all seem to verge on telling a story—but what story we wonder. |
Interesting blogs and friends' web sites.
Each of the political parties have different ways of treating people and that means exactly how and if you have social rights will vary depending on government policies. News papers have criticized the government: “In the past 11 years of the previous [Howard] government they have made the suppression of public information an art form (Watching the Media)."
The new Labor government has also revealed how the Howard government has acted to suppress information and influence the behavior of those it dealt with.
“Routine contracts riddled with gag clauses" would make it seem that the Liberal government has lied to any people that needed to (or to non-optionally optionally as the liberals put it) use organizations that worked with the government. The lies come from ultimately not being allowed a voice in a process that one is often forced (non-optionally/optionally) to be a part of.
Quote from: >News.com
During the Howard years, not-for-profit groups delivering government welfare services often complained they could not speak out against general government policies for fear of losing their contracts or ruining their chances of winning work.
"There are clauses which require them to give government their media releases before they issue them, require them to give government submissions and reports on campaigns and matters to do with launches prior to them doing them," Ms Gillard said.
"It's very common for there to be a clause which says the department may, at its absolute discretion, give notice to the contractor to remove personnel from work in respect of the contract services."

I have have lost some information (links to sites) below and had to recreate it from memory.
Falun Gong is difficult to understand but the short description presented here may be the necessary incentive to find out more information for yourself in the hyper links that are provided below.
In the west Falun Gong or Falun Dafa does not translate well as a practice because here in the west we have a clear distinction between religion, alternative health and activities we do in our daily life.
Falun Gong in the Chinese way of thinking is more like a way of life, the separation between health, religion and things we do in our daily life are not separate subjects. The way of raising your spiritual level does not need to have the label of religion or restricted practices attached to it.
It is obvious that the view that Falun Gong is boxed into alternative health like Yoga or the physical exercise of a good walk in a garden is not strictly correct, yet either Yoga or a good walk could possibly lift our spiritual level in the Chinese way of thinking even if we (in the west) might see one as healthy and the other as simple exercise.
