honestly, in my opinion, i'm trying to keep it real folks! (sorry i had to borrow these phrases from judge "mr brit")...anyway, i believe that....
people voted for scott because #1 he's a soulful singer & #2 he represents the average joe who made it through the competition with flying colors.
his best performance was.....a tie between "against all odds" & "she's gone."
i don't think he was being "cocky" for answering simon back, he was just being himself. referring to simon's usual comment of, "i'm trying to keeping it real!" scott said something to the effect that...."what's real is that millions of people at home didn't have the nerve to do this...& i'm here."
he keeps his promise,,,that wink to his fans says a lot about his integrity.
he's a funny guy & mamma savol swears that between him & his brother michael, she just gets hysterical with their antics!
his dedication & hope for his son, brandon is so wonderful & sincere, you need a box of tissue to control your emotions.
for the past 10 yrs, he had a few "curve balls" in his life, says mamma savol....he is the heart & soul of America!
i'd like to see scott go further with his music career, AI4 was just a stepping stone & has opened a window of opportunites not just for him but for the rest of the idols as well.
2005 was a lucky year for scott...if you try to look closely, his audition number was 502, what a lucky number indeed!
i was never hooked on AI, i watched a couple of it even voted some for reuben, clay, fantasia, etc...but the moment i saw the episode about the "cleveland audition" & saw scott for the first time, he caught me by surprise & followed his road to success.
i would love to see him perform (solo) away from the shadows of AI. it would be great if he can incorporate his trumpet into his music. my fantasy is for him to sing "never too much" with some trumpet backup.
another fantasy song i'd like to hear him sing is....."me & mrs jones" it gives me goose bumps just thinking about it.
