NEXT MEETING
Program Meeting
July 15, 2003
7:00 p.m.
The July meeting will be a program meeting
The "Dear Jane" Phenomenon is Coming!!!
CSQ member Jeri Wagner and her friend, Mary Hickory (historian and quilter), will introduce us to this master sampler
quilter of the Civil War era. Interest in the Jane Stickle quilt has created enthusiastic followers. Perhaps you have
seen replicas of it at other quilt shows (Paducah had at least two this year). Come and hear all about this bit of
history... from St. Louis to the Bennington Museum in Vermont.
The meeting will be held in the dining hall of the University United Methodist Church, 6901 Washington Avenue, University City. Use the red door on the east side of the church (the Trinity side). Ring the bell if the door is locked. The bell is loud enough to be heard in the meeting room on the second floor. An elevator is available in the entrance area.
QUILT SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT See the "Our Quilt Shows" section for an update on entering our 2003 quilt show, which will be on display from October 4, through October 30, 2003.

Circle in the Square Quilters (CSQ) was formed in 1984 to bring together people who are interested in the art of quiltmaking and quilters; to further the understanding of quilting as an intriguing and rewarding needle craft and artistic medium; to encourage and aid women, men, and young people in performance of the quilting and patchwork arts; to share talents, knowledge, and techniques about quilting, past and present; and to provide opportunities to exhibit fine examples of quilts and patchwork, old and new. Our outreach includes the metropolitan Saint Louis area.
