Welcome to the gallery for show and tell from the September 2000 meeting.
Crazy Quilt by Joy Stinger
Joy made this crazy quilt with the help of the piecing group. It
is made from pieces of cloth from clothes her family has worn.
She made a book of the history of each piece of cloth in each block.
The binding and borders are made from velvet.
"Beetle Buggin' " by Diana Doerner
Diana made this quilt for her four-year old son from fabrics
she hand dyed. He asked for orange, green, red and blue.
ABC Quilts by Janis Friedman, Jody Rosenblatt and Kathy English
These quilts were made for ABC Quilts, a group that distributes quilts to at-risk babies.
"Circle Play" by Gail Scruggs
This quilt was inspired by an article by Reynola Pakusich in
Art Quilt Magazine. It was Gail's first experiment with sashiko
quilting. The sashiko quilting is the white stiching on the black
background, which is shown in the detail view.
Quilt by Sonny Brodsky
This applique quilt was made by Louise Schwab.
This a quilt made by Judy Farrelly.
This a baby quilt made by Gwen Clopton.
Clara Asnes made this quilt from the classic Drunkard's Path block design.
These are two art quilts made by Michelle Wisla.
This is another quilt that Michelle Wisla shared with us.
This a an applique quilt by Suzanne Marshall, and a special Halloween project - "Boo!"
Those are the quilts we shared at our September meeting. Some of these and more can be seen at the Wall Hangings by Circle in the Square Quilters Exhibit going on now through October 28, 2000 at the University City Library. If you can't make it to the exhibit come to one of our meetings to see quilts like these live.
