Irish Ago Racing TT Diary 2006 10th June 2006 Well, yet another TT has come to pass and what a fortnight it was too! It's a very long time since we had weather as good as we have had in that time. The Big Race of the week was held yesterday and I managed to qualify to race. The race itself was dominated by John McGuinness and he took the course record to 129.40mph average for a lap. As for me, I had a very uneventful race and only passed one rider and that was on the last lap, otherwise I spent most of the race on my own, other than the faster men coming past. It was a lovely day, albeit very warm, and I think this affected me somewhat as I started to feel very sore on the last lap. I could barely move my legs, but I managed to bring it home yet again, so that's 2 finishes from 2 starts. I again finished in 52nd place at an average speed of 107.40mph and a fastest lap of 109.70mph, and that was in a 6-lap race. There were no incidents during the race, as the only yellow flag I came across was for some kiddie's balloons low-flying at the 33rd milestone, which I nearly hit! Things are already in motion for TT 2007, as it will be the 100th year since the TT Races began, so watch this space for updates in the next few months. I would like to thank the following once more for their support: Terry, for the bike, and the rest of the gang in no particular order: Greg, Wesley, Jan, Jack, Michael, Jac, Shaun, Curly, James, Dave, Simon, Graham, Ali and TT Teddy. Here's looking forward to the next year. Ride safe and free always, Kevin "Ago" Murphy... << Back |
